DAVID SMITH LL.B (Hons) CTA (fellow) Director is a former tax inspector with extensive experience of General and Special Commissioners appeals. He specialises in IR35 (and is the author of the Tolley’s IR35 text book) status disputes, contentious technical arguments and also lectures nationwide on the seminar circuit and is available for private seminars by appointment. David also manages the Accountax UK Ltd telemarketing service which offers accountancy firms a complete marketing strategy. With around 100 associate firms on board this is one of the most successful marketing systems in the UK.

MATT BODDINGTON LL.B (Hons) (Director) ex-Revenue, brings with him many years’ experience of employer compliance issues including PAYE audits and director problems. He defends in the tax tribunals as well as employment tribunals and is an authority on CIS status disputes and CIS certificate refusals.  Matt is also involved in Managed Service Companies rules.

SARAH THOMSON LL.B (Hons) (Senior Tax Consultant) has several years private practice experience, and specialises in CIS problems, defending tax status, Agency Regs challenges, IR35 matters and seminars. She has considerable expertise on CIS issues and represents clients at tax tribunals.

DAVID HARMER (Senior Tax Consultant) specialises in MSC rules and umbrella companies consultancy and enquiries, defending IR35, Agency Regs challenges, expenses legislation, tax matters self employed status, training and seminars. David also drafts self-employed contracts.

MARK TAYLOR LL.B (Hons) (Partner in Accountax Law LLP) has completed his Legal Practice Course and heads our employment law team and has extensive experience of handling personnel issues. He specialises in defending holiday pay claims and other contentious employment law disputes, including tribunal representation. Mark is currently undertaking his masters degree in employment law.

TYRA AKHTAR LL.B (Hons) ex Revenue, brings with her experience of Compliance and PAYE. Tyra specialises in IR35 and is heavily involved in training. Tyra also drafts contracts.

SIÂN WOODS BSc ATT CTA joined us after many years' in private practice. She specialises in technical tax matters, IR35 and status.  She brings broad experience of practical tax consultancy and strengthens our managed service companies team.

SARAH RODGERS ATT MAAT joined us from a top 10 accountancy practice. She specialises in status, IR35, investigations and technical tax matters and strengthens our managed service companies team.

NICOLA SMITH BA (Hons) ATT has several years of tax experience in 3 large accountancy firms. She adds depth to our technical tax expertise and also provides consultancy advice in the areas of status, IR35, and related problems.

NAV ROBERTS ATT MAAT has a background is accounting and law and provides tax status and IR35 consultancy as well as tax investigation advice.

EMMA McMILLAN LL.B (Hons) specialised in employment law academically on both her Degree and Legal Practice Course. She brings both this knowledge and her experience of training to our employment law advice team.

KYE BURCHMORE LL.B (Hons) has a background in law and has completed his Legal Practice Course. Kye provides Status and IR35 consultancy and strengthens our agency and.managed services companies team

CLAIRE STEPHENS BA IPFA is a qualified accountant with many years' commercial experience. Claire has strengthened our IR35 contract review team.
